Last night, I had the honor of attending an evening of charity and fashion at the Fountainebleu hotel in Miami Beach. The event was sponsored by the shops at Bal Harbour & LANVIN to benefit Project Newborn. I got there in time to browse the silent auction goodies–there was so much up for auction! The crowd was bidding of luxurious things like fashion items from Bal Harbour Shops like Carolina Herrera and Yves Saint Laurent, and weekends at Miami Beach hotels like the FB and the Mandarin, just to name a few.
At around 9pm, IT HAPPENED. The FIRST EVER LANVIN RUNWAY SHOW IN THE USA. The clothes were UNBELIEVABLE. I was situated at the end of the runway by all the other press and photogs and the spotlight made getting pictures kinda tricky. With that said, please excuse some of my photos that look overexposed–I did the best I could! It was such an amazing experience and I am so grateful I got to attend.
Note, things got a little nippy in Miami this weekend, hence the faux fur vest. People here are so funny–it gets down to 60 degrees and people bust out the winter clothes. I love it. Silly Miami.
Such a great experience! Hope you guys like my pictures though they really don’t do the collection justice…
On me: Faux Fur vest, Capelli; Ann Taylor dress, Nine West heels, Walmart belt.
I saw this necklace on This is Glamorous and it reminded me so much of a piece I bought a few years ago that I haven’t ever worn. I figured…perhaps if I transformed it, I would work it into my wardrobe for once (or twice)…I also figured that I haven’t ever worn it so if it ends up looking shiteous I could just throw it out. So, I decided to give it a go…
The inspiration (retail $375)
Requirement: a trip to Michael’s to pick up some gold spray paint…
The necklace, before (purchased at Forever 21 for $5.80)
and after the 24k gold spraypaint ($6):
ta-da! A glam inspired piece for a fraction of the price. This picture was taken after one coat, I’m sure I’ll spray another when this dries. Please excuse my Chinese takeout menu 😉
Now that we are in October, its time to attend some National Breast Cancer Awareness Month events. Search online and you’ll see many events dedicated to Susan B. Komen For The Cure. To those of you who live in South Florida, I’ve saved you the time and found one for you.
