Last night, I had the honor of attending an evening of charity and fashion at the Fountainebleu hotel in Miami Beach. The event was sponsored by the shops at Bal Harbour & LANVIN to benefit Project Newborn. I got there in time to browse the silent auction goodies–there was so much up for auction! The crowd was bidding of luxurious things like fashion items from Bal Harbour Shops like Carolina Herrera and Yves Saint Laurent, and weekends at Miami Beach hotels like the FB and the Mandarin, just to name a few.
At around 9pm, IT HAPPENED. The FIRST EVER LANVIN RUNWAY SHOW IN THE USA. The clothes were UNBELIEVABLE. I was situated at the end of the runway by all the other press and photogs and the spotlight made getting pictures kinda tricky. With that said, please excuse some of my photos that look overexposed–I did the best I could! It was such an amazing experience and I am so grateful I got to attend.
Note, things got a little nippy in Miami this weekend, hence the faux fur vest. People here are so funny–it gets down to 60 degrees and people bust out the winter clothes. I love it. Silly Miami.
Such a great experience! Hope you guys like my pictures though they really don’t do the collection justice…
On me: Faux Fur vest, Capelli; Ann Taylor dress, Nine West heels, Walmart belt.
A sneak peek at the designer featured in tonight’s festivities…I can hardly contain myself!!!
can’t wait to share pics and tell you all about it!
Fun French song from 2008. You know I love my French music 🙂
I always read Victoria Tornegren’s blog (er, read is kind of a stretch, since its in Swedish), and I love looking at her pictures. Victoria is pretty consistent in her style, mostly black clothes and stark-white hair with extensions. I think she is a great example of how you don’t have to have a bunch of crazy clothes to look stylish… though it is nice when she adds a splash of leopard like in this recent photo:

Is it solamente me, or does Isabel Marant’s collection look quite inviting? Don’t get me wrong, I love all of Isabel Marant’s designs but especially love this FW collection that’s a healthy blend of flirty minis and chunky knits. I am lucky I live in a city where I can sort of write off FW trends and go straight to these spring delights. Except for that rare occasion when we get a wind chill of 60 degrees.
Oh, and those slouchy azul botas? Los necesita. Who am I kidding? I want them in todos los colores.
Can I also just say that Anja Rubik looks more and more gorgeous as the days go by? Love her with her hair longer, though those are probably extensions anyway.
