South Florida, Mark Your Calendars!

1 Oct

Now that we are in October, its time to attend some National Breast Cancer Awareness Month events. Search online and you’ll see many events dedicated to Susan B. Komen For The Cure. To those of you who live in South Florida, I’ve saved you the time and found one for you.
Saturday, October 23rd head to Pangea Lounge + Gryphon Nightclub in the Hard Rock Casino from 6-10pm for the huge ShopSwagg shopping event!

This event will offer discounts on items from the trendiest and sexiest boutiques in the Ft Lauderdale/Miami area, PLUS free Swagg like food and beauty products from Everyday Minerals, Neostrata, and many more. Did I mention the free massages, product and service raffles and giveaways? Do not miss out! It will be hosted by 2011 Beach Bunny Super Model of the Year and former Miss Florida USA, Jessica Rafalowski.

After a long, hard evening of shopping, stick around as the venue goes from shopping extravaganza to nightclub. Coat check will be available to hang on to your new purchases as you dance the night away.

General admission is $20, general + 2 drinks is $30, and open bar VIP tickets are $50. Clearly we can see where the bargain is ;). Tickets will be $75 at the door. See you there!
For those unable to attend the event, you can log on to the ShopSwagg website and make a donation to Susan G. Komen Miami/Fort Lauderdale.

Proceeds of ticket sales to Susan G. Komen of South Florida and NFL’s OJ McDuffie’s Catch 81 Foundation for sick and underprivileged children.

Fashion’s Night Out 2010 Miami

9 Sep

Checking e-mail and came across this lovely reminder (as if I could forget!)…. is anyone else getting pumped up for this?? Fashion’s Night Out is TOMORROW, Friday September 10th. As the image suggests, I will be attending FNO in the Design District.  Let the outfit preparation begin!  I’ll be sure to post my outfit for you all to see ;). It was tough choosing between the different local events, considering they stretch all the way from Palm Beach to Kendall. Personally, I like the funky downtown atmosphere of Miami’s Design District.

As I’m sure you’re all aware, this is the first year FNO has been celebrated outside of New York City. For a list of complete events/cities:

exposing sara shake

8 Sep

Last night, I finally managed to meet up with the wonderful head of Exposed PR & Events, Miss Sara Shake (yes that’s her real name!).  Exposed is a boutique-style PR agency based locally in Fort Lauderdale, which Sara started herself about 8 months ago and the company has steadily taken on new clients ever since.

We met downtown at a cool little indie coffee shop in downtown FTL called Brew…which I definitely intend to frequent more often. Talking with Sara was sort of eerie, almost like talking to myself! Anyway it was great meeting someone else in South Florida who has drive & ambition, as well as encouraging to know there is still opportunity out there for people who work hard. I definitely look forward to some collaborations in the near future and wish nothing but great things for Sara & Exposed.

Check her out at http://exposedprandevents.com and follow her on twitter @exposedPR.

Have a wonderful day! xo
